Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Khalili was the Ibadi Imam of Oman from 1920 until his death in 1954, ruling the interior from Nizwa. Elected after the murder of Imam Salim al-Kharusi, he accepted the Treaty of Seeb of 1920 with the Sultan of Muscat, which left the interior to the imamate in practice. His long rule was conservative and isolated, with little trade or modern administration.
