Muscovite–Lithuanian Wars

1487–1537 · 15th century · Also known as Russo-Lithuanian Wars

The Muscovite–Lithuanian Wars were a series of wars from 1487 to 1537 between the Grand Duchy of Moscow and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, allied with Poland, over the Rus' lands between them. Moscow gained much territory, including Chernigov and Smolensk, taken in 1514 despite the Lithuanian victory at Orsha that year; the rivalry continued in the Livonian War later in the century.
