Natchitoches confederacy
The Natchitoches confederacy was one of the three Caddo confederacies, centred on the Red River in north-western Louisiana. The French founded a trading post among them in 1714, which grew into the town of Natchitoches. Reduced by disease, they later joined the other Caddo, whose descendants form the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma.
