Noguera Pallaresa

The Noguera Pallaresa is a river of the Catalan Pyrenees, rising near the French border and flowing south past Sort and Tremp to join the Segre. Its valley formed the heart of the medieval County of Pallars, which in 1011 was divided into an upper county, Pallars Sobirà, and a lower one, Pallars Jussà.
