Segre
The Segre is a river of north-eastern Spain, about 265 km long, rising in the French part of Cerdanya and flowing south-west through Catalonia past La Seu d'Urgell and Lleida to join the Ebro at Mequinenza. Its valleys were home to Iberian peoples such as the Cerretani and Ilergetes, and in the Middle Ages it ran through the county of Urgell towards the Muslim frontier at Lleida.
