Pasuruan

Pasuruan is a port city on the north coast of East Java, Indonesia, on the Madura Strait. In the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries it was a Muslim coastal state allied with Surabaya, and Sultan Agung of Mataram conquered it in 1617. Under Dutch rule it became a centre of the sugar industry.
