Pearl River (Mississippi–Louisiana)

The Pearl River flows about 790 kilometres through Mississippi and along the Louisiana border into Lake Borgne and the Gulf of Mexico. Its lower course separated the Florida Parishes, part of the short-lived Republic of West Florida in 1810, from the lands to the east that went to Mississippi and Alabama. It still marks part of the boundary between Louisiana and Mississippi.
