Philip IV of Macedon

d. 297 BCE · 4th century BCE

Philip IV of Macedon was the eldest son of Cassander and succeeded him as king of Macedon in 297 BCE. He reigned only a few months before dying of illness. His younger brothers Antipater II and Alexander V then quarrelled over the throne, allowing Demetrius Poliorcetes to seize Macedon in 294 BCE and end the Antipatrid dynasty.
