Pinnata Castra

Pinnata Castra, 'the winged camp', is a place in north-east Scotland listed in Ptolemy's Geography of about 150 CE among the towns of the Vacomagi. Its location is uncertain: it has been identified with the promontory fort at Burghead on the Moray coast and with the Roman legionary fortress at Inchtuthil on the Tay.
