Event
Punt expedition
The Punt expedition was a trading voyage to the land of Punt, probably on the southern Red Sea coast, sent by Queen Hatshepsut of the Egyptian New Kingdom in the fifteenth century BCE. It brought back myrrh trees, ebony, ivory and exotic animals. Its reliefs at Deir el-Bahari illustrate the Egyptian state's direct involvement in long-distance trade.
