Purandar Singha
Purandar Singha was the last king of the Ahom kingdom of Assam. Installed by a court faction in 1818, he was driven out a year later by Burmese forces who restored Chandrakanta Singha. After the First Anglo-Burmese War the British East India Company made him tributary ruler of Upper Assam in 1833, but it annexed his territory in 1838, citing misrule and arrears of tribute, ending Ahom rule.
