Rudra Singha
Rudra Singha, or Sukhrungphaa, was king of the Ahom kingdom of Assam from 1696 to 1714, under whom the state reached the height of its power. Succeeding his father Gadadhar Singha, he brought the Kachari and Jaintia kingdoms under Ahom influence, founded Rangpur and patronised Hindu learning, art and building. He died in 1714, reportedly while preparing a campaign against Mughal Bengal.
