Pyramid of the Sun

c. 200 · 3rd century

The Pyramid of the Sun is the largest building at Teotihuacan and one of the largest pyramids of Mesoamerica, about 65 metres high, raised on the east side of the Avenue of the Dead and probably completed by about 200 CE. A man-made cave runs beneath it. Its present form owes much to Leopoldo Batres's reconstruction, completed in 1910.
