Qarshi

Qarshi is a city in southern Uzbekistan, in the region of Transoxiana. In the 1320s Kebek Khan of the Chagatai Empire attempted to make it a stable sedentary capital. Together with his currency reform, this represented the most serious attempt to transform the khanate into a territorial state.
