Ricote Valley

Also known as Valle de Ricote

The Ricote Valley is a stretch of the Segura river valley in the Region of Murcia, south-eastern Spain, known for irrigated orchards laid out in the Islamic period. In 1228 Ibn Hud began his rising against the Almohads there. Its Morisco population was among the last in Spain to be expelled, in 1613–1614, after the general expulsion of the Moriscos.
