River Clyde
The River Clyde is a river in southern Scotland, about 170 km long, flowing north-west through Lanarkshire and Glasgow into the Firth of Clyde. Its valley was the heart of the British kingdom of Strathclyde, centred on Dumbarton Rock, and from the 18th century Glasgow's trade and shipbuilding made it one of the world's great industrial rivers.
