Glasgow
Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland, on the River Clyde. Tradition makes it the site of Saint Kentigern's church in the 6th century, and it grew around its medieval cathedral and the university founded in 1451. From the 18th century it became a great trading port, and in the 19th century one of the leading industrial cities of the British Empire, known for shipbuilding and engineering.
