River Wye
The River Wye rises on Plynlimon in mid Wales and flows about 215 kilometres through Rhayader, Builth Wells and Hereford to join the Severn estuary near Chepstow. Its lower course forms part of the border between Wales and England. In the early Middle Ages it bounded kingdoms such as Gwent, Buellt and Morgannwg, and after 1067 the Normans built Chepstow Castle above its mouth.
