Saada
Saada is a city in the far north of Yemen and capital of Saada Governorate. Yahya ibn al-Husayn founded the Zaydi imamate there in 897, and it remained the religious heart of Zaydism, with the mosque that holds his tomb. Its mud-brick walls and tower houses are well known. Since 2004 it has been the stronghold of the Houthi movement and has suffered heavily in the wars since then.
