Sadashiva Raya

r. 1542–c. 1570 · 16th century

Sadashiva Raya was emperor of Vijayanagara from 1542 to about 1570, the last ruler of the Tuluva dynasty. Placed on the throne as a youth, he had no real power: the regent Aliya Rama Raya governed in his name. After Rama Raya's death at Talikota in 1565 he was taken to Penukonda by Tirumala Deva Raya, who later replaced him and founded the Aravidu dynasty.
