Salaga

Salaga is a town in the Savannah Region of northern Ghana, in the kingdom of Gonja. From the 18th century it was a great market for kola nuts and slaves, linking the Ashanti Empire with Hausa traders from the north, and it was the leading slave market of the Volta region until the late 19th century.
