Siege of Kawagoe Castle
The Siege of Kawagoe Castle was a battle of Japan's Sengoku period in which the Later Hojo clan defended Kawagoe Castle in Musashi province against a large coalition of the Uesugi clans and the Ashikaga of Koga. In 1546 Hojo Ujiyasu relieved the castle with a surprise night attack that routed the besiegers. The victory made the Hojo the leading power in the Kanto.
