Sikasso
Sikasso is a city in southern Mali, near the borders with Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire. In the late 19th century it was the capital of the kingdom of Kenedougou, defended by a massive earthen wall that withstood Samori Ture's siege of 1887–1888. French forces stormed it in 1898.
