Sin-kashid

19th century BCE · 19th century BCE

Sin-kashid was an Amorite king of Uruk in the 19th century BCE, founder of the dynasty that ruled the city independently as the power of Isin declined. He built a palace and restored temples at Uruk, and many of his inscribed bricks and clay cones survive. He married a daughter of Sumu-la-El of Babylon, a sign of his standing among the Amorite kingdoms.
