Sinaloa
Sinaloa is a state on the Pacific coast of north-western Mexico, with its capital at Culiacán. Under Spanish rule it was a frontier province of New Spain, linked with Sonora and evangelised by Jesuit missions from the 1590s. Its irrigated coastal plain later became one of Mexico's main farming regions.
