Sino-Vietnamese War
The Sino-Vietnamese War was a brief war fought in February and March 1979, when China invaded northern Vietnam in response to Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia and its alliance with the Soviet Union. Chinese forces captured several provincial capitals, including Lạng Sơn, then withdrew after about a month, both sides claiming victory. Border clashes continued through the 1980s.
