Song of the Albigensian Crusade
The Song of the Albigensian Crusade is an Occitan epic poem of nearly 10,000 lines describing the crusade against the Cathars from 1208 to 1219. The first part, by William of Tudela, favours the crusaders; an anonymous continuator wrote the rest from the side of the counts of Toulouse, with vivid accounts of the sieges of Toulouse and the death of Simon de Montfort.
