States of Deliberation
The States of Deliberation is the parliament of Guernsey, which together with the States of Election forms the States of Guernsey. It developed from assemblies of the Bailiff, the jurats of the Royal Court and representatives of the parishes and clergy, and became the island's main law-making body. Since 2020 its members, called deputies, have been elected from a single island-wide constituency, with the Bailiff as presiding officer.
