Székesfehérvár

Székesfehérvár is a city in central Hungary, between Lake Balaton and Budapest. Developed as a royal centre by Grand Prince Géza and King Stephen I, it was the coronation and burial place of Hungarian kings for some five centuries, centred on its royal basilica. It declined after the Ottoman capture of 1543 and is today the seat of Fejér county.
