Taihe Code

1201 · 13th century · Also known as Taihe lü

The Taihe Code was the legal code of the Jurchen Jin dynasty, issued in 1201 under the emperor Zhangzong and named after the Taihe reign period. Closely modelled on the Tang Code, it marked the height of the Jin adoption of Chinese government institutions. It remained in use in northern China after the Mongol conquest, until Kublai Khan abolished it in 1271.
