Tallahassee
Tallahassee is the capital of the US state of Florida, in the north of the state near the Georgia border. The area was the heartland of the Apalachee people, site of their town of Anhaica and later of Mission San Luis. It was chosen in 1824 as capital of the new Florida Territory, roughly midway between Pensacola and St Augustine.
