Tamsui
Tamsui is a coastal district of New Taipei at the mouth of the Tamsui River in northern Taiwan. The Spanish built Fort Santo Domingo there in 1628, later rebuilt by the Dutch, whose Fort Antonio still stands. In the 1860s Tamsui became a treaty port with a British consulate, and the Canadian missionary George Leslie Mackay founded schools and a hospital there.
