Tanzania–Zambia Railway
The Tanzania–Zambia Railway is a railway of about 1,860 kilometres from Dar es Salaam to Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia, built between 1970 and 1975 with an interest-free loan, engineers and workers from China. It gave landlocked Zambia an outlet to the sea that avoided white-ruled Rhodesia and South Africa, and was then the largest Chinese aid project abroad.
