Tirzah

Tirzah was an ancient city in the northern hills of Samaria, usually identified with Tell el-Far'ah (North) near Nablus in the West Bank. According to the Bible it served as a royal residence and the capital of the Kingdom of Israel from the late 10th century BCE until Omri moved the seat of government to Samaria in the early 9th century BCE. Excavations show a fortified town with a long history of occupation.
