Treaty of Ta'if

1934 · 20th century · Part of the Saudi–Yemeni War

The Treaty of Ta'if was signed on 20 May 1934 between Saudi Arabia and the Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen after the brief Saudi–Yemeni War. Yemen recognised Saudi rule over Asir, Jizan and Najran, and the two kingdoms agreed to peace, friendship and the return of each other's fugitives. The border it drew remained disputed for decades and was confirmed by the Treaty of Jeddah in 2000.
