Turkish–Armenian War
The Turkish–Armenian War was fought from September to December 1920 between the Turkish nationalist forces of the Grand National Assembly and the First Republic of Armenia. Turkish troops under Kâzım Karabekir took Kars and Alexandropol, and Armenia was forced to sign the Treaty of Alexandropol, giving up Kars and Ardahan. Soon after, the Red Army occupied Armenia, and the Treaty of Kars of 1921 confirmed the new border.
