Umm an-Nar culture

c. 2600–2000 BCE · 27th century BCE

The Umm an-Nar culture was a Bronze Age culture of south-eastern Arabia, in modern Oman and the United Arab Emirates, dated about 2600–2000 BCE and named after an island off Abu Dhabi. Its people lived in settlements with round stone towers, buried their dead in large round collective tombs, and mined and traded the copper that Mesopotamian texts associate with Magan.
