Upper Austria
Upper Austria is a historical land of the Habsburg monarchy along the Danube west of the Enns river, with Linz as its capital, and is now one of Austria's federal states. Known in the Middle Ages as the land above the Enns, it gradually became a separate land from Lower Austria. Its towns include Steyr, seat of the Otakar margraves of Styria, and Enns. The Innviertel was added from Bavaria in 1779.
