Upplands (Norway)
The Upplands (Opplandene) were the inland districts of eastern Norway, including Hadeland, Ringerike, Hedmark, Toten and Gudbrandsdal. In the Viking age they were divided among petty kings and shared the Eidsivating law assembly. Olaf Haraldsson ended the Uppland kings' independence around 1018, joining their lands to the kingdom of Norway.
