Uyayna
Uyayna is a town in the Najd region of central Saudi Arabia, north-west of Riyadh in Wadi Hanifa. It was the birthplace of the reformer Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, who began his preaching there in the early 1740s under the protection of its ruler Uthman ibn Mu'ammar. Under pressure from Sulayman ibn Muhammad of the Banu Khalid, the town expelled him, and he moved to Diriyah, where he allied with Muhammad ibn Saud.
