Diriyah
Diriyah is a town in Wadi Hanifa on the north-western edge of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was the seat of the Al Saud and capital of the first Saudi state from the 18th century, where Muhammad ibn Saud allied with the preacher Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab in 1744. Ottoman-Egyptian forces under Ibrahim Pasha destroyed it in 1818. Its mud-brick district of at-Turaif is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
