Valls d'Àneu
The Valls d'Àneu are a group of high valleys at the head of the Noguera Pallaresa in the Pallars Sobirà district of the Catalan Pyrenees. In the Middle Ages they formed part of the county of Pallars Sobirà, guarded by the castle of València d'Àneu, and kept their own customary laws, the Consuetes d'Àneu. Romanesque churches such as Santa Maria d'Àneu, whose paintings survive, mark the area.
