Veere
Veere is a small town on the former island of Walcheren in the Dutch province of Zeeland. In the 15th and 16th centuries it prospered as a port under its own lords, and from 1541 it was the Scottish staple, the official market through which Scottish wool, hides and other goods were sold in the Low Countries. Its great Church of Our Lady and Scottish merchants' houses survive.
