Venetia
Venetia is a historical region of north-eastern Italy centred on Venice. After the Napoleonic Wars it was ruled by the Austrian Empire as part of the Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia. Defeat in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 stripped Austria of Venetia, contributing to the reconstitution of the empire in the Compromise of 1867.
