Person
Wamara
Wamara is remembered in the traditions of the Great Lakes region of East Africa as the last ruler of the Bachwezi, the semi-legendary dynasty of the kingdom of Kitara. Nkore tradition makes his son Ruhinda the founder of its Hinda dynasty, and Wamara is also venerated as one of the chief spirits of the Chwezi spirit cult. His historicity, like that of the Chwezi kingdom itself, is uncertain.
