Lake Edward
Lake Edward is a lake in the Albertine Rift on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Linked by the Kazinga Channel to Lake George, it drains northwards through the Semliki River into Lake Albert. The kingdom of Ankole grew up in the grasslands to its east. Henry Morton Stanley named it in 1888 after the Prince of Wales, the future Edward VII.
