War of the Fifth Coalition
The War of the Fifth Coalition was fought in 1809 between Napoleonic France and its allies and Austria, supported by Britain. Austria invaded Bavaria and won at Aspern-Essling in May, Napoleon's first major personal defeat, but lost at Wagram in July; by the Treaty of Schönbrunn it gave up large territories, including its Adriatic coast.
