War of the Two Peters

1356–1369 · 14th century

The War of the Two Peters was fought between Peter I of Castile and Peter IV of Aragon from 1356. Castilian armies repeatedly invaded Aragon and Valencia, and the conflict merged with the Castilian civil war, in which Aragon backed Henry of Trastámara. It ended with Peter I's death at Montiel in 1369, though a final peace came only in 1375.
