Watling Street

Watling Street is an ancient route in England and Wales, paved by the Romans as a main road from the Kent ports through London to Wroxeter. Around 886 it formed part of the boundary between the lands of Alfred the Great and the Danelaw. Much of its course is followed by modern roads such as the A2 and the A5.
