West Galicia

1795–1809 · 18th century · Also known as New Galicia

West Galicia was the name of the Polish lands, including Kraków, Lublin and Radom, that Austria annexed in the Third Partition of Poland in 1795. Austria lost the province by the Treaty of Schönbrunn in 1809 to the Duchy of Warsaw, regaining only the Kraków region later, in 1846.
